See MoreUFC Welterweight title contender - Born April 26, 1984 - Nick Name: The Natural Born Killer - Record: 27 – 5 - Height: 6’2 (188cm) - Weight: 170lbs (77kg) - Fighting out of: Albuquerque, NM (USA) When Nick Diaz refused to show up for the post-fight press conference, Venum Fighter Carlos Condit was immediately offered a title shot against current welterweight champion GSP. “The Natural Born Killer” jumped on the opportunity and will challenge one of the best fighters ever. We think that he has the tools to defeat the Canadian, with unpredictable stand-up skills and underrated jiu-jitsu. One thing we know for sure: he will leave everything he has in the cage. This guy is a true warrior, ready to shock the world and to take the belt! Update: GSP is out due to an injury. Carlos Condit and Nick Diaz will fight for the interim welterweight championship! Lyoto Machida

- Born May 30, 1978
- Nick Name: The Dragon
- Record: 17 – 2
- Height: 6’1 (186cm)
-Weight: 205lbs (93kg)
- Fighting out of: Belém (Brazil)
Two years ago, everybody believed Machida was unbeatable. He ran through every single opponent he had to fight, but finally lost the title against fellow Brazilian Mauricio Shogun Rua. The Karate specialist then lost a close controversial decision to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, even though he completely dominated the American in the 3rd round. His back against the wall, he scored one of the best knockouts we’ve ever seen in MMA, with a jumping front kick on Randy Couture. “The Dragon” is now ready to get back into title contention, probably one or two wins away from a title shot. We now know he’s not invincible but we truly believe that he will rebound and earn the belt again. Machida has evolved, now a lot more aggressive in the first round and we think this is time for him to show he is the best in the division!

- Record: 20 – 3
- Height: 5’8 (173cm)
- Weight: 155lbs (70kg)
- Fighting out of: Sparta, NJ (USA)
Jim Miller is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist and currently one of the best lightweights in the world. He unfortunately lost a title opportunity, defeated by Ben Henderson in August. Prior to that, he was on an impressive seven-fight winning streak and very likely to earn a title shot. The setback will slow down his path to the title, but the 28 year-old has plenty of time to climb up the ladder again. He remains at the top of the UFC lightweight division, his two other losses coming against Frankie Edgar & Gray Maynard who will battle for the title in October. Jim is a calm and respectful guy who always goes at it when the cage door closes. He takes a lot of risks to finish the fight by submission and will not hold anything back! This is why we love him!

- Nick Name: The Hitman
- Record: 17 – 5
- Height: 6’0 (183cm)
- Weight: 170lbs (77kg)
-Fighting out of: Las Vegas, NV (USA)
The Danish fighter is ranked as one of the top 10 welterweights in the world and even defeated fellow Venum fighter and #1 contender Carlos Condit in 2009. Close to a title shot back then, he never got his chance because of recurring injuries, both from his opponents and himself. Martin is now set to face Rick Story in November. The European fighter is in a must-win situation, following a two-fight losing streak (even if he lost via controversial decision twice). It will be a great challenge against a tough wrestler but Martin will dominate on the feet and be dangerous with his surprising submissions. Watch out for the Hitman!

- Record: 31 – 10 – 2

“The Great” was one of the best middleweights in the world and decided recently to drop down to welterweight. His UFC welterweight debut did not happen as planned and Nate finally signed with UK promotion BAMMA. Though no opponent has been officially named yet, he is expected to face dangerous striker Paul Daley. It should be a tough fight but Nate definitely has the tools to defeat the one-dimensional standup fighter. We hope he can fight for the title and be a world champion soon!
